Huntington Gardens Statues

Rows of statues surrounded by flowers and trees

These life-size sculptures watch over a pathway through the magnificent Huntington Gardens in San Marino, CA. The property has 12 unique gardens, and is a must-see for visitors in the Los Angeles area. I photographed this image on film with my Nimslo stereo camera in 2009.

High Hand to Hand

An acrobat holds a handstanding man high up in the air

This impressive acrobatic move was performed by Mark Daniel and Ben Averill, while Steve Clark observes. These guys have been my friends since high school, and were gymnastics coaches at the time. Photographed in 1980 at the Madison, Wisconsin capitol building grounds, with an Argus C3 camera, on Kodachrome film.

Tropical Canopy

Upward view of exotic trees in Hawaii

I was wandering around Honolulu's Foster Botanical Gardens back in 2008, taking in the exotic scenery. Looking up, I marveled at the incredible variety of shapes silhouetted against the sky.

Maiden and Warrior

A maiden and warrior in a Renaissance Fair setting

I attended the Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California in 1988, and enjoyed all the fantastic cosplay. These people looked great in their outfits, appropriately dressed for the Renaissance period, yet somehow traces of the 80's are evident. This image was photographed with my Nimslo quadra lens camera on negative film. It can be seen in stereo on the 3D Variety page.

Ceramic Paradise

Pottery store with giant asian head

The exotic entryway to Jackalope Pottery entices visitors to experience it's Zen vibe. The store seems like an oasis in an otherwise industrial area of North Hollywood, providing for an interesting photo.

Colossal Clown Sign

Giant neon clown sign along a road

Located along a rather dreary section of Burbank Boulevard in North Hollywood, stands the famous gigantic clown sign, guaranteed to grab your attention. Outlined in neon for maximum impact at night, the demented clown has enticed customers to enter Circus Liquor since the Sixties. Photographed in 2018 with a Canon PowerShot S90 camera.
